South Nassau contacted Axis, urgent to rebuild this iconic community facility after complete destruction as a result of Superstorm Sandy. Time was of the essence, as some 150+ patients who depend on the care provided every other day for life were displaced to other facilities.
Scope included rebuilding all interior partitions, 18 patient bed areas, nurse station, and reception area. Axis coordinated the rebuild of a new, cutting-edge dialysis RO water treatment center and distribution system. Also replaced was the facility’s 150KW generator. The entire facility was completely constructed in exactly 100 days, and the patients excitedly returned to their home.
