Construction of the new dormitory building began in March on the school’s Rockville Centre campus. Pre-fabricated modular components that already had utilities built in allowed construction to be completed in just six months. Axis Construction of Hauppauge served as the general contractor. Mayor Bill de Blasio today marked the opening of a new $28 million NYC Health + Hospitals/Gotham Health community health center on Staten Island, the organization’s first full service ambulatory center in this borough. MJCL Architects created the architectural plans, and Axis Construction served as general contractor for the modular construction project.

The Vanderbilt Family Health Center, built by Axis Construction Corp. and NRB Inc., both members of the Modular Building Institute, is the first new healthcare facility constructed on Staten Island in more than 10 years and is strategically located in a neighborhood that has the greatest and most convenient access to mass transit for patients and staff.
