Center for Advanced Medicine at iPark / Lake Success, NY

Axis was selected as the Construction Manager for the implementation of the 1st phase of master planning work at the former Sperry Gyroscope War Production Plant. Original building was presented essentially as a shell only. Constructing the new patient friendly facility within the historic building required partial demolition of the existing structure, façade replacement, new front entrances and canopies along with the addition of skylights help to project the new facilities soft, friendly atmosphere. All projects over the course of five years, needed to be coordinated and infrastructure upgrades were required in support of the new programs. Axis provided preconstruction services for all the projects including master plan budgeting, scheduling, logistics and implementation planning. Projects included an Ambulatory Surgery Center with six (6) operating rooms (completed as a Design Build project), a new Urology Center, an outpatient Radiology Facility (including Radiology Rooms, MRI, (2) CT Scanners, and a Mammography suite), an Ambulatory Cancer Center including 32 ambulatory chemotherapy transfusion bays and a USP 797 Pharmacy, a Surgical Techniques Training Center (Bioskills) and Façade and communicating corridor construction. Total square footage renovated was approximately 135,000 square feet for a total construction cost of approximately $50 million.
